Best headline in the China environmental humor category goes to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation for Singapore-Beijing highway prompts environmental concerns.
As on St Patrick’s day where one is more attuned to the color green, April 1st has the radar scanning for the potential prank. Thus, headlines in my “news alert” dump that wouldn’t have invited a second look yesterday have me wondering whether my leg is being pulled today. What would you make of:
Environment talks with Al Gore former US Vice-President
or
China’s environment under threat: study
or
Congressman Thad McCotter standing firm against Red China ?
In some cases, particularly in the last instance, reading the article doesn’t resolve the issue. I can’t wait for tomorrow when I will once again know that the humor in a headline such as US academic hit by change is purely unintentional.
