Even when we are stretched very thin here at CELB, we don’t like to leave our readers without something to read. Thus, we are pleased to announce that we have added a translation of MEP’s recently released Organizational Rules (under the right sidebar marked “Laws & Regulations”) to the already large library of documents we make available for free (you’d pay hundreds of dollars for this kind of thing at other sites). To be honest, it does not make for the most stimulating read, but if you are interested in which departments do what within MEP, it is invaluable.
Just as I suspected
From today’s China Daily:
Zhou Shijian, a senior researcher with the Tsinghua University, said the environment and energy were the right topics for the SED because China should not be pressed further to revaluate its currency.
The push to expand the SED to environmental and energy issues was a head fake by the Chinese side, and the US fell for it.
Cleantech Forum
I’ll be moderating the following panel at the Cleantech Forum Shanghai:
China’s Energy Efficiency Potential: Myth, Mirage or Mega Market 11:50 - 12:50; China’s industrial facilities, and commercial and residential properties are currently far less energy efficient than global averages. China is striving to meet energy efficiency goals in its current five-year plan. In this session energy efficiency leaders in China will share their views and advice on making a profitable impact by reducing energy consumption. They will discuss where the greatest gains can be found, and what are the best channels for clean technology applications in order to achieve energy efficiency targets?
If you are attending, please stop by.
