CELB has lots more to write on the US-China climate change front, but much of it may be mooted by what comes out of this week’s meetings between US climate envoy Todd Stern and his Chinese counterparts. I don’t think anyone is expecting a big breakthrough, but we should be able to read through the diblo-speak to get a sense of where things are heading.
In the event Stern’s staff pops onto CELB before their meeting with Ministry of Environmental Protection officials, the written remarks for the recent speech before the Center for American Progress identify Pan Yue as a “former” Vice Minister of MEP. He has certainly been much quieter these days, but he is still a Vice Minister.
Here’s hoping for a productive set of talks! We will give you our take as soon as we hear something.
